The only way this post could be more Australian is if you were driving a V8 Holden while drinking a Fosters.
/s
Also, I feel you about the kangaroos. In Texas, we have suicidal white tail deers that jump out at you while you're driving (I've hit two, one at 60 mph).

You know, being an American I never realized this was an actual concern.
No wonder Volvo is working on a Kangaroo Avoidance system

Have the same problem in New Jersey,
My neighbours car, luckily my truck has a massive bull bar so the on I hit didn’t do any damage.
We had 50,000 (yes 50,000) deer strikes in my county last year. When we tried to expand the hunting, the fucking PETA type morons always block it. “DON’T HURT BAMBY YOU SHIT LORDS!!! 111!!!”, mean time Bamby is destroying the local ecosystem because it can’t support the massive over population.

Sucks, had that had happen with a white tail, but my bull bar took the impact so I had to just wash the blood and shit off the front.
Also I’m curious, never had Roo before. What’s it taste like?

Good luck with the conversation department expanding your hunting season. Missouri is actually shortening the season next year, and limiting the amount of Bonus / antlerless deer tags available per purchase.
Back about 5 or 6 years ago my mom & dad would go hunting and basically compete to see who would shoot more deer. With harvesting between 5-6 each during the 2 weeks of firearms season.
I think next year it’ll be 1+1 many an additional depending on county. (Any deer + bonus antlerless)
Apparently they are in a decline in population the last couple years.

I know that no one in Australia drinks Fosters, but we Americans have had the “Fosters: Australian for ‘beer’” commercials jammed so far down our proverbial throats that it’s the only beer that came to mind (marketing masterpiece).

It’s a very regional thing, though. I think Maryland is expanding it’s season. It used to be longer and with higher limits, then the shortened it, then lengthened it, etc. Its been pretty cyclical here.

That sucks, sorry to hear about that. Glad you’re ok though.
As many have said, in the US we have a deer problems. Where I’m from they get up to 300lbs, and we usually have a few fatalities a year caused by deer strikes. Usually the deer rolls up over the hood of the car, thru the windshield and crushes the driver or passenger in the impact.

Thanks, our season is pretty short but we have to do something because it’s getting pretty bad. I have at 3 heards around my house of around 15-20 animals. They’re like rats at this point.

The bigger issue in SW CT is there isn’t a lot of places to hunt due to suburban sprawl, giving deer a perfect habitat of open yards. Mix in lots of cars and the result is higher accident rates.
